Long Warranties are commonly offered as an insurance policy -one which you hope never to actually have to use of, but are happy to have when the circumstance arises. Majority of the reviews start with a recognizable moment. A warning light turns on. There is a peculiar grinding noise. An estimate to the repair comes that is unreal. In such a way, the warranty either qualifies to be of use or it turns out to be headache. On the positive reviewers also speak of quick claim payments and auto shops who did not turn them away. The negative ones are like failed relationships: "Not covered." "Normal wear." "Claim denied."

The greatest frustration tends to focus on the wording of a policy. Most of the customers have the assumption that the term bumper to bumper means complete coverage. It doesn't. Time and again the reviewers caution that the blacklist is much longer than anticipated, seals, sensors, gaskets, etc. In others, the failed part is a component related to a covered system, but omitted using technical terminology. One critic made a joke that the warranty was on the concept of an engine and not the engine itself.

Feedback on customer service is wide. Other experiences become amiable and effective, such as a neighbor calling back with the help. Others are the ones that are like the horror stories of a terrible cable provider-long waiting lines, being transferred several times and a promise never coming true. Some of the drivers insist on recording all calls as an investigator. Dates matter. Names matter. Silence can be costly.

The mixed reactions are also in pricing. Initial payments of a month are not too heavy, until the final price becomes evident. Other reviewers acknowledge to have contributed more towards the plan than they earned in repairs. Others were fortunate to have one big failure and come out victorious. The analogy is usually gambling: You have put your bets and hope the message will arrive before the transmission goes dead.

The acceptance of a repair shop is a common review. There is a tendency to give more feedback on warranties that can be easily handled by the local mechanics. When the stores reject the coverage or require further diagnostics, complaints accumulate. It also forced drivers to pay out of pocket in various instances to advance the claim. That leaves a sting.

The most amusing reviews, ironically, are those that are made with the greatest amount of anger. Sarcasm runs thick. One individual has likened their warranty to an umbrella which folds when it rains. The other one told that it was fine--as long as nothing ever broke. Funny or not, the trend is obvious. These reviews are to be read in the same way restaurant reviews are: disregard the extremes of ranting and miraculousness. The reality is often somewhere in the middle - some cold cup of coffee in a waiting room.
